As the community champion and advocate for business, the Chamber leverages the talents and resources of its member businesses to improve economic opportunities for all business segments- from tourism to retail to manufacturing and more.
In its efforts to address business retention and expansion, the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors approved five target markets as areas of focus for business development on August 16, 2007.
The five markets fit the geographic benefits of the area and easily integrate with development efforts for business and tourism. Target markets are: cultural economic development, green industries, entrepreneurial business, maritime development, and supply chain business.

Maritime Development: Mixed use waterfront development balancing commerce, industry, and recreation
