Ludington Area Schools’ vision is that students will graduate from a top-performing district, confident and prepared with the knowledge and skills required for their success in the global community. They offer a top-notch quality education with a small town feel.

The community-supported technology bond allows LASD to put a device in every student’s hands, allowing for a 21st century education in connection with the global community. The district’s partnerships with the community allow it to provide innovative opportunities beyond the traditional Michigan Merit Curriculum expansive AP offerings, dual enrollment courses with West Shore Community College, Career/Technology Education (CTE), as well as renowned fine and performing arts.

In addition to its strong academic program, Ludington Area Schools offers athletics for students in grades 7-12, including 24 varsity sports, as well as an array of co-curricular groups such as Business Professionals of America, Community Service Club, Drama Club, Show Choir, We the People Civic Group and others in middle and high school.

Ludington serves 2200 students across five buildings: Ludington High School (9-12); O. J. DeJonge Middle School (6-8); Foster Elementary (3-5); Franklin Elementary (K-2) and Lakeview Elementary (K-2).

The Pere Marquette Early Childhood Center is also part of LASD, and offers several preschool options for young children.

The “Love Ludington” campaign is evident in Ludington Area Schools. The district’s personnel is made up of people who care about one another and the town: neighbors, parents and grandparents of our children’s friends, volunteer coaches, members of community organizations, and so many others with whom my family regularly interacts beyond school. The desire to make this community the very best is in the hearts of the staff working with our children, and that passion drives the quality education offered to Ludington’s Area School’s students.
