Halloween is nearly here, and local organizations have a great number of activities for families happening this week:

10/28: Ice Skating Spooktacular
A family-friend event from 6-8 p.m. at West Shore Community College Ice Rink. Wear a costume! Cost is $10 for entry/rental.

10/28-29: Spooktacular Weekend at Spartan West Bowling
Friday Cosmic Bowling 9-11:30 p.m. with prizes for costumes; Saturday Cosmic Bowling 6-11 p.m.

10/28: Spooky Monster Magic Show
This fun magic show for kids starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Ludington Library.

10/29: Run For Your Lives 5K/10K
Wear a costume, if you wish, and have fun with this holiday event. Choose the length of your run, starting at 9 a.m. at Legacy Plaza.

10/29: Pumpkin Painting at Sandcastles Children’s Museum
Choose a pumpkin and get creative! Cost is $9 per person; members come right in! (11 a.m.-1 p.m.)

Now through 10/29: “Crown and Coffin” dining experience
Enjoy new fall menu items at Crown and Cork in the decorated area of the restaurant. Call 231-425-3557 for reservations

10/29: Family Halloween Party at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. RSVP for taco lunch: 231-480-4533. Treat stations, games and activities will be available. (11 a.m.-2 p.m.)

Now through 10/31: Dolloween at Sportsman’s Restaurant & Bar
View and purchase spooky dolls by Laurie Carey on display at Sportsman’s during October.

10/29: Safe Harbor Credit Union Pre-party at Legacy Plaza – 1 p.m.
Games and prizes at 112 N. James Street will be featured at this gathering prior to downtown trick-or-treating.

10/29: Downtown Ludington Trick-or-Treat/ Trunk-or-Treat
Visit participating downtown merchants for trick-or-treating from 2-4 p.m. Ludington Avenue will be closed from Harrison Street to Rath Avenue for a trunk-or-treat event featuring games and prizes.

10/29: Tractor-or-Treat at Kistlercrest Farms
Dress in costume and enjoy this free event at the farm! (1-3 p.m.)

10/29: Fall Festival Weekend
Visit unique animals in the petting zoo and take advantage of the many outdoor activities for families at Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo (through 10/31). Pick a pumpkin, get lost in the corn maze and grab a treat from the farm store.

10/29: Farmtober Fall Festival

10/29: Halloween Glow Doubles disc golf event
“Fear the Bogeyman” will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Riverside Park in Scottville. Register at Grip N Rip Disc Golf or online (cost is $100 per team).

10/29: City-wide trick-or-treating in the City of Scottville (6-8 p.m.)

10/29: Halloween Party at the Tiki Lounge (inside Stearns Hotel) with costume contest – 9 p.m.

10/29: Spooktacular Saturday at 876 Baldwin
Enter a costume contest for a chance to win a $100 gift card for the best or worst costume, 4-6 p.m. Saturday.

10/29: Night of Fright 8 at Ludington Area Center for the Arts
Hosted by Ludrock and 94 K-Rock FM’s Chad Rushing, this is a night of rock ’n’ roll and Halloween fun for adults. Enjoy live music and a cash bar; must be 21 years old to drink. Sport your best costume for the costume contest. Tickets are $5, and proceeds support the art center.

10/30: Halloween KENO Party at Hof Bar & Grill
An afternoon of playing KENO; extra treats for those in costume! (2-4 p.m.)

10/30: Trick-or-treating (grades 6 and under) at Ludington Elementary School (2-4 p.m.); also West Shore ESD Book Walk

10/31: Tents & Treats at Cornerstone Baptist Church
Trick-or-treating in the Cornerstone parking lot; wear your Halloween best! (6-7:30 p.m.)

10/31: Trick-or-treating at Ludington Woods Assisted Living (6-8 p.m.)

10/31: City-wide trick-or-treating in Ludington (6-8 p.m.)
