Aglow on the Avenue Parade

The Aglow on the Avenue Parade is a favorite event of the Christmas holiday in Ludington. The parade starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, and the lighted entries ensure that downtown streets are aglow with holiday cheer and excitement to usher in the holiday season. Welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus and, following the parade, take the kids to a Santa meet-and-greet event and tree lighting at Legacy Plaza in the heart of the downtown district, featuring music from the Ludington High School Choir.

Small Business Saturday

Downtown Ludington is the place to be on Saturday, Nov. 27 for Small Business Saturday, when retailers roll out the red carpet for holiday shoppers. Take advantage of early Christmas deals available this weekend only. Whether you’re looking for clothing, shoes, art or music, Ludington boutiques and galleries have you covered.

‘Art of Giving’ Holiday Artist Market

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind gift, look no further than the artist market being held at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, Friday, Nov. 26 through Friday, Dec. 17. Local creators will have on sale their unique paintings, prints and jewelry throughout the month, and shoppers will be able to choose from a variety of remarkable pieces. Plus, your purchase helps support the arts in the community. Hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Deck the Halls: A Mason County Decorating Contest

Here’s your chance to return to an old-fashioned Christmas tradition: Load up the family in the car and take a light tour of Mason County! View outdoor decorations and lights that are noted on a published map and vote for your favorite. The contest runs December 1-27, so this is a relaxed activity that can be done any evening during the month.

Scottville Parade & Tree Lighting

Huddle together in Downtown Scottville for a new event this year: a Christmas parade and tree lighting in the town’s square on Saturday, Dec. 4. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with the parade starting at the fire barn on East Broadway and ending back on Main Street, where Santa will light the Christmas tree.

South Main Street will be closed to allow a craft area for kids to make a colorful ornament (to keep or put on the city tree). Fire rings will be lit along South Main to allow for marshmallow roasting and s’mores. A free cocoa station with popcorn will also be available, and kids will have the opportunity to take a selfie with Santa for $1.
