Restaurant & Meat Processor Now Open in PM Township
“It has always been our lifelong dream to open a meat market destination in our beautiful hometown of Ludington,” said Corey Sanders, who co-owns Ludington’s newest culinary destination, butcher shop and market.
Located at 3815 West US-10, Ludington Meat Company is now serving a variety of made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and meat products. A soft opening was held over the holiday weekend, and the business is officially open to the public today.
Customers can take a load off and sit outside in the beer garden for lunch or dinner at Ludington Smokehouse & Bar. The deli menu will feature a variety of gourmet sandwiches, wraps, and tacos, in addition to chefs’-choice charcuterie boards, smoked meats and cheeses. Seating inside includes eight bar stools and will accommodate 30 people, while the outdoor area seats 40 for a relaxing afternoon on the patio. A full bar, specialty cocktail menu, and eight local beers are on tap.
Visitors may also enjoy a sip-and-shop experience with a glass of wine or craft beer while perusing the number of ready-made sausages, meat sticks, jerky and more. The store will offer a specialty butcher-block counter for customers to order their own cuts of meat. This is a one-stop shop, since the specialty grocer will also offer cheeses, bread, fresh fruits and vegetables, and beer and wine.
Corey and his wife, Laura, own the business with Corey’s brother, Alec Sanders, and his wife, Jessica. The team from Mason County has been working on this project for over a year.
In addition to the on-site eats, Ludington Meat Company will serve as a premier meat processor/butcher shop, offering a variety of fresh and frozen beef, pork, poultry, fish and seafood products. Deer processing with vacuum-sealed packaging will additionally be available to local hunters.
“We will be processing and packaging our own products in our state-of-the-art processing and packaging rooms, in the back third of the building,” Laura said. “We will offer venison processing for customers in both small and large batch quantities.”
“We have a passion for manufacturing, curing, and smoking quality meats,” Corey said. ”We are thrilled to bring a new brand of meat products to this region of Michigan to serve our community and those who visit.”
